Alex, Belarus

Alex Sharf grew up in Belarus, studied in England and now works as a project manager in Warsaw. We met him in Rio where he was on holiday to celebrate his birthday.

If you had a superpower, what would it be?

I’d like to create trust among people. Im not sure how id do it but trust is the essential word.

What is your earliest childhood memory?

When I was 5 years-old, I took my first music school entrance exam. I sang a soviet, quite communist, song with a serious face. From a current perspective it looks funny, but was normal at the time. It was a piano exam and I passed.

Describe your perfect day.

I’m quite hedonistic when it comes to perfect days. It would definitely be warm. In fact, go to Geneva in May and that would be a perfect day for me. Mountains, lake, food and wine – perfect.

What’s the love of your life?

Piano and music?

When were you happiest

I’ve not been my happiest yet. I would be happiest when all the things you’ve asked so far are combined. For me, happiness is trust, love for yourself, respect for yourself and others, and then lots of secondary things like travel and ways to satisfy your internal drives.

If you could have dinner with three people, dead or alive, who would they be

I don’t segregate between famous or not famous, dead or alive. Ultimately it is about sharing your experiences of the day and catching that moment of happiness. It could be anyone.
