Maggie, 58, works for a charity in Mendoza dealing with child nutrition. We stayed with her and her son Patrick in Mendoza. Maggie makes a mean apple cheese cake and is a prolific and talented knitter.

What trait to you most dislike in yourself and others?

I hate it when people lie. People lie about the silliest things. They say a glass is a cup when clearly it’s a glass. It’s stupid. In myself, I don’t like that I am stubborn.

What trait to you most like in yourself and others?

I have good spirits and I like honesty in others.

When where you happiest?

When my son was born. It was my birthday and I felt like a goddess.

Have you ever seen something you can’t explain?

The phenomenon of the sky. I can’t explain that.

Describe your perfect day.

I’d be at home, preferably a home in the countryside, with my daughter and son. I’d read and meditate, and that’s all – a simple day.

If you could have a superpower what would it be?

To be able to see into the future.

If you could have dinner with three people, dead or alive, who would they be?

My sister and my two children.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?

To look after your health.

What’s your greatest achievement?

Bringing up my children to be good people. My life revolves around my children.
