Mark, Chicago, USA

Mark, 40, from Chicago lives in an eco-community in Capilla del Monte. We met him when he was selling his homemade chocolates in a restaurant in the town. We chatted for a while and couldn’t resist asking him our Superpower questions.

If you had a superpower, what would it be?

Whatever power Shakespeare had. I definitely want that.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?

I think anything that comes from without is sort of useless. People can give you hope and encouragement but they can’t tell you anything. It’s a puzzle you have to work out for yourself. But my Dad did once tell me that Eleanor Roosevelt said that for every quarter you earn, you should give a nickel away to charity, save a nickel, and use the rest for expenses. I like that idea, but I never did follow it.

When was your happiest moment?

Moments of love. To be loved, and to love.

What’s the love of your life?

Books, cooking and Florencia, my partner.

Have you ever seen something you can’t explain?

All the time. I can’t explain anything.
